I reformatted and reinstalled my system a few months ago, and since, I haven't been able to shut down properly. That said, it hasn't bothered me horribly, which is why this problem still persists, as I rarely restart/shut down my pc. Its an early rev asus a7n8x delux w/ a 2100 AXP and a GF4 (no pci cards at all) running winxp pro. Restarting or shutting down results in the same effect, its as if all processes have halted, but the system never goes down/resets, ie im staring at a blue screen, my usb devices are unpowered, etc. Hitting the reset or power button puts me back on my way, and windows starts up as if it had been shut down properly (ie no scandisk). All drivers (chipset, videocard) are circa 2 months ago, and winxp pro is up to date. Any ideas?
