Hey guys. I woke up this morning to turn on my pc, and everything came on, lights, fans, hard drive spun up, but my pc wouldn't post. Tried it a few times, but nothing. I took everything apart, cleaned them, and retried again. This time only with my video card(7800gt) , my cpu(Pentium D 920), and ram to see if it will post. Nothing.
Well, I left it on for about 10mins, then I turned it off. When I went to take the cpu off, I noticed that the heatsink was cool to the touch, so I quickly removed it and found that the cpu was also cool...not warm at all. Well, I don't know if the MB is not supplying the cpu with power or maybe the cpu is dead? I hope it's not the MB as I just replaced my dead ABIT aw8 with this Gigabyte ga-p35-ds3l about a year ago. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this matter.

did you reset the cmos...when i was trying to figure out my oc with this board i had this problem a lot when i would go to high on the fsb...everything would come alive but no display
 
Well, I'm not overclocking, but I reset it anyways, but nope....no go.
Any more ideas?
 
try resetting the cmos--- make sure your psu is working and hooked up-- but in all honesty-- my money is on a bricked board...Gigabytes had a prodblem with the ds3's... I had a ds3r and all was working fine--- then all of a suddon-- no post.. The fans would rev up-- then after about 3 seconds it would shut down and start back up-- fans going-- 3 seconds-- shut down... No way to fix it-- you had to send the board back to gigabyte... If you google the restarting no post gigabyte thing, youll find a few threads about it... I think it was more common on V1 board.. But I did hear of a few v2 boards having problems too-- but not near as many...
 
after my gigabyte experience---- i went asus..so far-- very happy... running a p5q deluxe @ 4.15g 24/7...You might want to look at the p5q pro-- i think its about the price your looking at that intel board...p45 chip on there and runs very nice... If i had to do it over again--i would..
