pc wont boot back up after reset

when the pc restarts after pressing reset, the bios doesnt post or make any beeps ,just hangs,unlles i turn the power off then it will restart,same thing with windows updates when i have finished downloading updates and press restart it wont boot back up,monitor just goes to sleep. any ideas,:confused:
 
I have had a similar problem before. I use to have to unplug most of my usb devices and sometimes a few harddrives to get it to post.
