PC won't boot...any advice...

I have built this system over a year ago, I do not overclock. I just recently moved and when I unpack the PC and turn on Power and I see all the fans start up fine, but thats it. RAM doesn't fire up (I have 2 GBCorsair XMS 3500LL Pro sticks and notice they fire up due to the LED lights, but I just see middle orange led light up and then go away after 5 seconds). System just hangs there with fans running only. Does not POST on monitor at all.

Check all wires and unplugged and plugged back in RAM and other PnP peripherals but still no go.

Any advice? :confused:

Tried resetting CMOS?

Try booting it without things plugged in (remove everything that isn't core system first). If that doesn't work perhaps try booting without any RAM installed (daft I know but at least you might get a beep out of it and know it's your RAM or something).
 
Break it down completely outside of the case, mobo on a piece of cardboard, and start with the CPU/HSF, video card and one stick of ram, and see if it will post. If it does, add one component at a time... if everything is ok outside of the case, a short would have been the cause.

I would have to think that something got knocked loose during shipping... Hopefully that is all it is... Good luck...
 
Thanks I completely forgot about the CMOS. Guess it will be a long night for me breaking everything down and putting it back up again and isolate the dang problem. I need to get a laptop for emergencies liek this, I can do so much at my work, besides work :D
 
Make sure the HSF is still properly attached, large ones especially can become dislodged during moves and fortunately the CPU will shut down if it overheats. Since you've got the Zalman 9500, you'll probably need to remove the Mobo to check the mounting bracket fully.
 
Well I pretty took out the mobo and installed everything back, but noticed the same issue when I just had the CPU and RAM just installed. Not sure if it's my RAM or not, didn't hear any beeps. I also tried to reset my CMOS and still a no-go. :(
