recently i decided to connect my computer to my 27" television via svideo out to composite video. everything went smoothly but as soon as it booted up i realized how i got horrible scanlines or refresh lines...im not really sure what you would call it. basically it looks like what happens when you film a television with a hand held video recorder. i have tried a few minor tweaks like the resolution and refresh rate but nothing has changed, not only that but when i put my 9700 pro into TV mode it locks the refresh rate on 60.

i would list all my specs but im pretty sure the only thing that matters is you know its a 9700 pro. if you could help me in any way i would be very greatful because this has been an ongoing problem and its near impossible to watch movies because the big fat white lines scanning up and down are annoying/distracting like you wouldnt imagine.

I think the output frequency of a TV is have that of a monitor's lowest output frequency (~30Hz).

You're not going to get much out of it at all. I put my PC on my TV awhile back and I know exactly what you're talking about. Don't bother.
 
i know what you're talking about but ive seen it done before where people have hooked it up svideo to composite (not dvi or anything else). do you have any idea how i would go about doing that?


what do you think could be causing the conflict polish?
