Just wanted to know if it's safe to place a PC speaker (logitech z5500) on top of a tower. I don't know much about speakers, but I've heard that there are magnets inside. Just wanted some input on whether this would be a safe thing to do.

it would be fine, i have had hard drives sitting on top of my polk r-15 bookshelf speakers for a while and did not loose anything.

you basically have to have a really srrong magnet and pass it over the hard drive very rapidly for it to effect the data, just a speaker on the tower is fine.

and more than likely the z5500 speakers a magnetically shielded anyway.
no worries at all with that
