I've been having a problem recently where when i browse a pictures folder displaying thumbnails my PC will restart. I set it as details instead of thumbnails and its fine. what would cause my PC to not be able to display thumbnails and restart like this? ITS ANNOYING. please help thanks.

if OS is XP... is auto restart disabled?

if not...what did you do before this started happening?

I installed SP2 and used adaware if that matters. thats all i have done different and this has been happening.

uncheck auto restart...

control panel -> system -> advanced -> startup and recovery settings -> uncheck "automatic restart"

Should give you an error message now..instead of restarting. Unless this is caused by hardware..but it doesn't seem like it at the moment.

I'm thinking SP2 doens't like your setup and you should have reformatted. It's not always the case..but it usually prevents stuff like this from happening.

Thank you for a real answer! I will try and see if it helps. SP2 is probably the cause though...
