Hey just to double check myself wouldn't a weak or dying cmos battery cause a computer to lose time and such. Ichecked this today when I turned it on it was a day off.
It was not turned on for at least 4 or five days. What else could possible cause this problem?

If it's repeatedly doing this even when plugged in, then I'd say the CMOS battery is going out.

It may be a long shot, but is your computer set to synchronize time and date over the internet? If so, try disabling it. At one time my computer kept getting set at the year 2007, once I turned off the synchronization I never had the problem again.

Of course it might also be battery related.

I cannot for the life of me remember where the synchonization box is any help its win2k prof. ?

I don't remember if Win2K has the time sync thing, but double click the time display on the start bar to bring up with window with the clock. One of the tabs in the window is Time Synchronization or something.

Checked the time thing and no Sync box so I'm leaning towards the no Sync in Win2k
I'm thinkin that it is probabley a battery problem cause when i first noticed it, it was only off like 20 minutes and so i changed it back this happened several times and i kept telling myself hey self get a battery. Well every time im out i keep forgetting to get one then just today and last week when the system was on it was a day off. Well I guess this is what I get for procrastinating.

Guess I'll have GF bring me a battery home.

That is correct :) Whats really funny is that she is usually the procrastinator. :)
