PC keeps rebooting when playing games

I bought an XCUBE PC from Maingear a little over 3 years ago and started having trouble with it spontaneously rebooting right after I got it. The PC would reboot when I wasn't doing anything except browsing the Internet. I would literally leave the room and come back to find my PC had restarted. It seemed to know when I left the room! I'm a novice PC user so I immediately contacted Maingear and they were unable to figure out what the problem was (they had me run a stress test to check for overheating) but suggested I try replacing the memory. Replacing the memory seemed to fix my problem for some months, although I found some games would still reboot my computer, albeit rarely. I did some research on my own and found most all of my reboots are listed in the event viewer as kernel power 41 task 63 with a zero bug check code. Googling turned up people with similar problems but none seemed to offer a single solution. It seems reboots can be caused by most anything that goes wrong in your system.

I hadn't played very many demanding games after changing my memory but the reboots that occurred while I was not doing anything went away. Now, however, I'm getting the same reboots very frequently when playing 2 different FPS games. My PC is no longer under warranty. What should I do? I ran Memtest86 and came up with no errors. Any help appreciated since I cannot play more than 1 hour without my PC rebooting in Dead Island and Alan Wake :(
 
It sounds like an over heating issue to me.
When you clean it what exactly did you do?
As in cleaning.

I'm running Intel desktop utilities to monitor my tempts and it hasn't warned me of anything yet. I keep the inside of the computer pretty free of dust.
 
The same thing has been happening to hubby's gaming PC.
Only just 2 years old
High end games that he was previously able to play would just shut down and the pc would of course restart.
It would only shut down on playing specific games.
Did all the driver updates etc etc, bought a new video card, No, same thing kept happening.
It went to the computer repairer's twice, they tested hardware etc, everything seemed to be working OK, trawled the internet forums for many weeks, looking for an answer.
And then.... I came across one person who had the same problem, and his was fixed!!.
The power supply unit!.
Even though on this pc the psu was ample at 750w, and still working, when we looked and researched the power supply unit that was in this computer , it was a cheapie! worth $30.00 odd, even though the case was an Antec and all components were quite top of the range,the psu was not!
I read that the capacitors start wearing out and even the high end range of psu's have only a 5 and in some cases 7 year warranty..
So this got us thinking... mmm....maybe
Being on a low budget we got an Antec 750w gold psu for about A$185.00.
And the problem has gone!!
Just wanted to let others know, and what worked for us, as so many seem to be having the same problem
 
ozelynn brought up a good point: What are the specs of your system?
 
Its certainly not the very best but its OK and plays games well.

There still has been no issue now that the new psu has been installed and plays all my games, without the previous issue of shutting down constantly.
