PC keeps freezing-help

The problem is that the computer keeps freezing about 10-20 minutes after I turn it on. I can't tell what the problem can be because:

-Heatsink is warm to the touch
-Can't be the graphics card because it would have distorted colors and that isn't happening
-PSU is 250W (enough for a 2GHz PC, haven't had any problems for the past 4 years)
-Machine is clean (first thing I did when I opened it)

Any ideas?
Machine is not overclocked.

P.S. I used speedffan to measure the temperatures but that didn't show anything about the temp, any other programs (i don't know of any other program to measure the temps, suggestions?)

List all of your system components please.

4 year old power supply, the electrolytic in the capacitors onboard does eventually dry up...
 
Worked for 3-4 years now it does not work. What and when was the last thing you did to it, both software and hardware wise.
 
Sorry, my bad.

i was playing Warcraft III and then I wasn't (I played for three hours straight ). I thought that it might've overheated since it was a really hot day. I waited until the next day to check the status of the machine. I woke up, turned it on, and I felt relieved until fifteen minutes later when the machine froze again (I just left it on and no programs were opened).

Specs are:
-P4 @ 2GHz
-512MB of RAM
-80GB of HD
-250W of PS
-3 fans

Does thermal paste dry up?
 
I had the same problem. It ended up being my video card. There were no distorted colors or anything, it just randomly froze periodically and required a manual restart. If you have recently installed driveers for the card, roll them back. If not, get new drivers. Or, get rid of drivers all together. My card froze becuase of bad drivers, after nvidia came out with the updated drivers, I haven't had a problem. This was only 3 weeks ago. The card I had a problem with was an Nvidia GeForce 4 Ti 4200.
 
I replaced the graphics card and still the same problem. Forgot to mention that last night the Blue Screen popped up. Now it seems like the memory. Too bad that it is Rambus, it's gonna kill the pockets.

Anyone else have any suggestions?
