I was trying to OC my i7 920(never tried before) and I most likely fucked up somewhere.
When saving my oc bios work, my pc wouldn't boot up to windows and just died. I decided I messed up and decided tor reset my cmos. I double checked my bios to confirm it was default settings and went to loading windows, it gave me a bsod 0x0000007B.

I tried windows repair, chkdsk, popping my windows 7 cd in, nothing works and I keep getting the blue screen of death 0x0000007B error.

Right now I removed the cmos battery and will retry in half an hr, but I hope I can get some suggestions and feedback.

EDIT: That didn't work either.. does this mean I may need to buy a new mobo or processor?

Sounds like you corrupted the hard drive, I doubt you broke anything.

Make sure the BIOS is set for the proper controller mode (since you did a reset of BIOS options).
After that, boot from the Win7 disk and run the Repair options at the first setup screen.
That may be able to fix the boot problem. You'll also have the option to use a Restore point which will fix the Registry.

You may also want to connect the drive to another computer and save your data in case
you need to wipe the drive and re-install Win7 to fix it.
 
Spartacus, I love you man. I totally forgot about the controller mode and it's booting up again. Such a simple thing screwed me over...

I posted for help also at Tom's Hardware(first time), and I actually got a warning for 'vulgar language' for my single mention of 'fucked' in my post. The mod told me it was a family friendly site and that I'll be banned for cursing again.

That has to be the most ridiculous policies on a IT hardware forum I've seen. What little toddlers would be roaming such a site in the first place?
