Yea I'm 21, and honestly haven't played a real game in the past 3-4 months. Too busy in school for computer science / specifically to make games. But have no time to play them :eek:

20. I "gamed" on the PC when I was younger but it was mainly like Carmen Sandiego or Flight Simulators, lol. I played mainly console games growing up on the SNES, N64, etc. Started to game on the PC when I built the rig I have now (besides the upgrade from the 8800GTX to GTX285) in '07.
 
I'm in the largest category, 20-25, but I love the fact that the 40+ category is 3x as large as the <19. Awesome.

People less then 20 are probably more worried about getting vehicles and stuff then PC gaming. Just my guess even though the first thing I bought when I got a job was a nice pc.

yes, a nice showing for the people who STARTED the hobby...anyone like me get the first issue of computer gaming world magazine back in the day??!!!

there, i just showed the youngsters there was a time we got our gaming fix information via the printed page...lol..i even remember calling the developer of a game on the telephone and asking the guy who wrote the code a question...try and do that these days!!

LOL! How about some of the first online games were the old ANSI graphics / Text games via BBS, not the internet.... :D
 
Yep, '84 was for sure! Been married to same lady ever since, plus got her into computers enough she never says no to when I want to do an upgrade.... :D
 
29 here....been console gaming since the mid-late 80s and PC gaming since 97. Haven't owned a console in 5 years. Just bought Starcraft 2 today. :D

theres a few that i know of but they are minor gave dev's that make smaller games. nothing like DICE, or blizzard, or THQ dev's for example. but im sure theres some big ones floating around in here that just lurk and get idea's from other gamers.

Back when we all used Usenet we used to get some fairly big game developers interacting with us but they used to get lambasted a lot too for flaws in their games so now they prefer the Nazi control system of their own forums were they can squelch the dissenters.
 
I'm 29... I turn 30 in 1 month... I've been gaming since 1990 on my 286 and 2400 baud modem. I was hooked as soon as I discovered multiplayer games that could be played with friends over BBS sites.. I've never looked back. I still remember the time I signed up under my dad's name to access the adult area on the BBS... Well the sysop called the house and asked to speak with my dad.. I was pretty embarrassed and had lowered security access to that BBS until it shut down.. :p

I'm glad to see so many older gamers still rocking the hobby! Cheers to everyone gaming! =)
 
I'm 43. Started out on console gaming but switched over to PC games only 4 years ago. I was better at console games for some reason, but I enjoy PC gaming much more.
 
27 years young. System Shock 2 started it all for me, haven't looked back. :D
 
Interesting results, I was starting to think that there was a servere decline in people my age still gaming, I'm 27 now and It's the time when most of your mates have settled down into serious relationships and can maybe squeeze in 20 minutes of Xbox, most of the time is spent at the pub.

I don't know anyone my age who is heavily into gaming anymore, I mean I'm not playing every night but that's mostly to do with lack of good titles, when something good comes along like Fallout New Vegas or DAO then I'm up playing for 10 hours straight. Where are all the other late 20's gamers in the UK then?
 
I'll be 29 in 4 months. Been a PC gamer since I was 12 or 13. I love PC gaming more than consoles, but it's been so hard lately with the lack of quality and enhacement in PC games.

That's awesome. My other half is awesome. Anytime I need a part or upgrade and if we have the money she never says no. Plus she gave me $300 to go towards my monitor as a gift. :D
 
I'm 30 and have been gaming since the 80s. Mostly console gaming back then, Atari, nintendo, sega, etc. My first game was Microsoft Flight Simulator. Hooked on PCs since then. Went back to console gaming for years and did little gaming on my PC. Recently started playing on my 360 a lot less and just focusing on my PC gaming. I guess you can say I went back and forth with it. But

On the contrary most console gamers I know are over the age of 35 and used to be PC gamers. All of my younger family members (<19) who game do so almost exclusively on handhelds.

Add me to that list ;) Oh and about 4 other guys I know who married gamer (friendly) girls. Its not that uncommon as it used to be.
