IGN has a list of some very big name titles that have yet to make any appearance on retail shelves. Some of these titles we should eventually, while others sit in limbo.

Ever wondered what happened to StarCraft: Ghost or Mario 128 or Shenmue 3? Some games disappear with a whimper, never officially cancelled but no longer in development. Others are give a legitimate sendoff via press release, only to resurface years later. Seeking closure, we assembled a list of some titles that have gone missing in action. We made some calls, did some snooping and endeavored to discover the truth about the games we once eagerly anticipated.

Starcraft ghost was announce that it would be indefinitely postponed.

WoW is all Blizzard will ever need now as long as they continue to "improve it."

Someday everything will be virtual reality anyway. Can you imagine a virtual reality MMO? Would leave players pretty vulnerable though, sitting in their rooms, forgetting to eat or drink, and deaf and blind to reality.

They talked about this on a TV show the other day, some Japanese company made an MMO that mimics real life... everything you do in the game is real (ex. You go to the pizza store, order a pizza, few minutes later you have a pizza waiting at your door". They were even mentioning real money transfers within this sims type game).

I think it's a little crazy, I love further advancements in gaming, but man to be seated to your chair running your life is a bit much for me.


Diablo 3 I believe was also canceled due to wow correct?

I wouldn't say cancelled, but I'm sure it's of a low priority. I remember suggesting in another thread how Blizzard needs to splinter and create a subsidiary to work on these games dying in the shade of WoW, but no one seemed to know exactly if Blizzard had or not.

Hopefully Blizzard will realize that not all gamers bought into WoW, and that they could buy them instead with Diablo III, Starcraft, and others. Even if they assign ten people to work on them, they'd at least be in progress.
