My parents hard drive died aobut two weeks ago, I bought a new one for them (the are broke right now). The MB also died, I thought so I got a new, it still does not work, the BIOS does not load, I also changed the RAM. Is there anyway I can tell if the processor is working? It has to be the processor or the g-card. Any suggestions?

If anybody has an XP1800-2400+ Processor for a descent price email me at:

how do you know the PS didn't die?

What have you done to troubleshoot this?

What was the original problem? exact errors

The HD, cd-rom, etc. all power up but not even the BIOS loads. The PS could be somewhat faulty under load but is fine as tested with a multimeter. No initial errors hardware errors occured, but my mother had downloaded a virus recently, I reformatted the HD, and after that nothing works, I even tried changing the HD, that was when I realized the BIOS was not even loading. I thought the problem was the MB but I was wrong.

Making that long story short the PS is also suspect.
