PC Cassette Deck/Player

Probably not, considering you can just hook up an external professional tape deck to your sound card and mix that way. Though I'm sure most use cd's now.

It looks like this deck simply connects to the line-in on your sound card for playback. There is no interface with your motherboard/computer beyond using wires and adapters to connect it to your existing soundcard.

You'll probably have a difficult time controlling the levels being recorded to the tape, among other things, so your $140 might be better spent looking for older but similar-in-function audio equipment.

Though, to be honest, I don't know enough about tape decks to recommend anything. Perhaps someone else can say if there is something better for around $140, because to me the price for this cassette deck seems to be the novelty factor of the equipment being made for a 'personal-computer'.
