I'm building a pc right now and I have an ABIT AA8XE mobo and a SATA Hard drive, the drivers for SATA are on a floppy, but i do not plan on putting a floppy drive in the pc, but do i need to put a floppy drive in there to put the drivers on for it? Or can I use the pc I am on now to put the files onto a CD?

Most newer BIOS support SATA drives and directly boot to them just like an IDE, but it couldn't hurt to make a bootable CD-ROM with them on there, or most newer motherboards will also boot to flash memory, IE a Jump drive.

It would still be a wise idea to put in a floppy drive, as the windows install for SATA drivers uses/likes floppy drives. On a build I did recently, I was able to get a SATA HDD for cheaper and used it, and I ended up spending some of that saved money on a floppy drive (they didn't think they needed/wanted one.) so I could easily install the windows XP SATA Drivers.
