How does the processor get access to the BIOs ROM? I understand that the processor is set to automatically jump to the memory address FFFF:0000 which contains a JMP instruction that points to the actual address of the ROM BIOS code, but where does it jump to? Is the BIOs code loaded into the UMA and then the processor just accesses the address in the UMA to run the code? Also do ROMs on adapter cards act the same way? Are they loaded into the UMA and then ran from there? I cant seem to find answers to my questions. If someone has a website or could provide me with an answer themselves I would greatly appreciate it.
