Hey guys,
Long time HardOCP reader first time poster. I'm posting for my friend whos computer is down heh. He just recently replaced his motherboard and processor (an upgrade for his waterblock, he needed a motherboard with the proper mounts) He is using a Shuttle AN35/N Ultra Motherboard. AMD XP 2400+ Seagate 10000 RMP SCSI HDD, 768 of corsair 333.
After he installed the Mobo and got everything running he is starting to put all of the stuff in one at a time. Now when he plugs the power into his SCSI HDD the PC wont boot at all, no fans, no LEDs , no beep codes. but if he unplugs the power from the HDD it boots fine. THe SCSI controller card is in and it will boot fine with that in ... but as soon as the power goes into the HDD no dice. Anyone have any ideas ? I appreciate any suggestions :)

I'll bet he's underpowered. Can you come back with info on his power supply's brand, model number, and wattage rating?
 
He is using an Antec 300 watt Power supply. I know he was using a 300 watt PSU before the upgrade of the mobo and CPU. But i figure if he disconnects both CD rom drives and is running minimum hardware he should be able to get the HDD to power up. (which we tried, but didn't work)
 
Does another HD power on in the system? Could be a short in the HD after the moving around
 
Yeah an IDE drive will power up in it. I know its possible for the drive to have crapped out, but it wasn't even removed from the case. Any other suggestions?

Well, maybe the data cable's loose/bad? Sometimes a bad data cable confuses the BIOS and you get errors or no POST. *shrug*
