I have a Gigabyte GA-81915P Duo Pro and am wondering if i'd get better performance by using the onboard sound or by using my Soundblaster Live Value? Not in a sound quality shootoff just pure system performance. I don't care too much about sound quality as I only ever use headphones or just 2 speakers running off to my amp when watching movies etc, don't have surround sound TV setup. Also if using onbard sound with the associated c-media built in sound card, is it possible to say have my headphones and my connection running off to my amp, working at the same time ? It seems like I have to disconnect my headphones to get my amp to work, a real pain is the ASS. Your motherboard uses a Realtek ALC880 audio codec for sound. although this is a very capable sound, it will prolly use more cpu then the Live value. as for how much more your prolly only looking at 1 to 2 percent difference (if even that much.) Also the Live might have some better sound output, but you will need to test that for yourself. the live value is an older card, and the newer motherboard sound solutions are very compared to older premium sound cards (like the live), you would need to get a newer card to exceed it.
