Our family has an older G3/300 B&W G3 that my dad purchased a little over five years ago. Lately, it's been having a lot of problems and being that it's already very slow (it will only run OS 9.2, any 10.x install runs too slow) so I've decided that it's time for a replacement. Unfortunately, my little brother has developed an affinity toward the case and therefore, the case must stay while I manage to put a PC inside. I know that people have done this before, I've tried searching on google with no success however so I was wondering whether someone could post a link or perhaps explain what might be required for replacing the innards with PC parts.
 
It all depends on how close to the ATX standard the areas are inside the case.

Will a new ATX power supply just slide in or will you need to mod it to fit.

Are the holes in the motherboard tray in the right place or will you need to add new ones.
Will a new backplate fit.

Whats the air flow like in the case.
If it not great than any new CPU is going to run hot.

Etc, etc.
It may well be easier to just get a new case.
