• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.

So I'm buying something with paypal that is not covered by the protection (timeshare). Can I have a seperate email thread with the seller stating for purchase of computer monitor (paypal protected item) at x amount. Please reply that you agree with this sale. Then if they do not follow through with the time share agreement I can claim the monitor was never shipped and get my money back?

The seller would agree to these terms because it is only half down and I will gift the other half once I receive the transfer.

Anyone familiar in these areas with some advice? Thanks

That would be against paypal's TOS. Any claim you made against paypal in this regard would be flat out fraud.

Plus, you'd be telling him straight up front that you don't trust him.

But since this doesn't seem to have anything to do with [H], I'm going to lock this thread.
