I just picked up a set of Patriot Extreme Performance 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit, for really cheap ($130). I'm going to be using a Core 2 Duo E6300 with a Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 board. Has anyone had experience overclocking this RAM? or any other Patriot products. Another question is, if I run the ram at stock, 400mhz (800 DDR) and have the FSB on the motherboard set at 400mhz (2.8ghz cpu) would the ratio be 1:1? If i intend to OC it to a 500 FSB bus, then would that mean the memory would have to run at DDR2-1000 speeds?

details on the ram price please. Did you buy this from a website or "from a friend"? If anyone else can get it for this price, please share the wealth.

it was a pricing error by fry's electronics, they had it in the display case as OCZ 2gb, but in details it said 2x512mb and blah blah, brought it to the manager attention, and he had to do A LOT of overrides to give me the price, didn't have the OCZ 2GB at 800mhz so i got patriot instead, i'm happy with it, its not currently OC but i have my E6300 running at 400FSB 2.8ghz clock :)

FRYs currently has the 2gig kits of the Patriot Extreme for $129.99... I just picked up a kit this weekend. I bought my first kit a month ago for $149...

I ran 2gigs overclocked to 990mhz (wouldnt post at 1000). Im running an E6300 with the same board you have... look at my specs in my sig. They are near identical to yours and I have had great overclocking with 2 gigs... however, I am having issued with 4 gigs.
