computer question, how much paste do i need to use with my new cpu fan, and does you need to use paste these days,

If this is a stock hsf, and you're fine using the TIM that came stuck to it, then just pop it on your proc.

If this is a new hsf or you'd like to put on your own thermal paste, there are differing methods depending on whether your proc has an IHS or not (integrated heatsink). Follow the instructions on this site which will show you how to properly apply your paste and install.

can i go out and buy a new cpu fan with this paste stuff already on the cpu fan, but what should i be looking for and what make and name, do i have to look for

To be honest, I'd just pick up a tube of arctic silver 5 or arctic ceramique and follow those instructions I posted. It will give you the best performance.
