Hey, I have a Samsung Laser Printer, and i have it shared on my network so I can print wirelessly from my laptop as well as desktop to the printer. THe problem is, so do my roomates, and toner is expensive. Is there a way to password protect the printer? Thanks a ton.

If it's a WinNT OS (2K, XP), you should be able to set user permissions just like you do with shared drives. Just password your guest account, or disable guest on the printer.

Yes, there most certainly is a way. If you have Windows 2000 or Windows XP, you can restrict the user acccess to the printer to just the machines that you use.

- Right click on the printer to bring up the menu
- Click on Sharing
- Click on the Permissions button.
- Uncheck the boxes of user's on the network that you want to have access to the computer.
- Click OK and your all done!:)
