Do the innovatek's passive radiators work as well as a dual HC with silent 120mm fans, or should i spend the money on the dual HC with fans?

Also, I was looking into liquids to use, can you use straight coolant, like you would use in your car?

No, a dual 120mm active radiator will outperform a passive one by far. And you CAN use auto coolant, but it's not the best choice. Distilled water with some coolant added is a good option.

The point of using coolant is to prevent corrosion and some even have antigrowth stuff in it. Coolant doesn't transfer heat as well as distilled water so that's why you should only use about 10% coolant.

Which of the Innovatek passive radiators are you talking about? I think they have the large size and the extra large size ;) Also you might want to consider the Aqua Computer Airplex Evo 1800 radiator. Many people have used it for a passive radiator and I think it holds 18 120mm fans if you wanted to go that way....MORE POWER!!!

Passive Radiators do not use fans, which is why i was inquiring about it. It uses convection. (not sure if thats correct wording) But I think ill go with a double HC with a couple of quiet fans.

i believe that top nurse was saying that you could use the airplex passively, with okay performance, or with a whole bunch of fans for excellent performance.

two fan rad with two quiet 30db fans on a controller.
or
three fan rad with 3 nearly silent 19 db nexus(yate loon) fans, possibly also on a controller.

3 fans is more expsnsive, and needs more space, but it depends on how quiet you want things.

Yes that is correct, but the A-C radiator doubles as both. It would also serve to keep your house warm during the winter ;)

a room maybe, but not a house. house-warming is what thermoelectrics are for. :)

Alright, what about suggestions for 2 and 3 fan rads? Depending on size, ill either be mounting on the outside, or on the inside. The case im going to be getting is the 18x18x18 inch cube by Mountian Mods. The U2-UFO Optimax.
