Would a retail athlonxp 1800+ hs be sufficient to cool my gf3 ti200? Also, would it be unreasonable to attach it with a small drop or two of super glue?
The super glue would be questionable, some people say it works, some say it doesn't. IMO you would rip the chip right off the card with the weight of the HSF.
I think that it should cool the card fine. if not you could always put a really quiet fan like a panaflo on it.
i have a ti200 with a TERRIBLE hs/fan that has almost stopped, and its still running at 190 mhz (stock was 175). I'm pretty sure you would be able to passively cool your ti200, but with marginal OC results.
Take an old p1 or p2 HSF and put thermal goo on the core with 4 tiny drops of superglue the corners of the core to hold the HS in place... worked like a charm with my geforce 2, it didnt even get warm after I did that (had a 40 or 50mm fan running on 5 volts, dead silent)
