Everytime I find a passive cooler or a known low-noise cooler (e.g: Arctic Cooling VGA coolers), none of the indicate any compatibility with a 7600GT card.

Does anyone know of any that I may have missed ?

This card runs so much faster core & memory speeds than the 7600gs. Perhaps there is no suitable passive cooling system other than watercooling for this card.

I'm thinking about getting one The HR-03 coolers for my 7600gt. Newegg page says it's good for 7600 series. Looks like it requires an adapter, so you gotta make sure the one you're buying comes with it.

I have a similar cooler on my old 9800 AIW and love it.

I'm really hoping there could be...

Although I just saw an Inno3D 7600GT having the Arctic Cooling NV Silencer 6 on them... hmmm, they retail version of the Silencer 6 could be compatible with the 7600GT boards.

Any thoughts ?

I have the zalmen cooler in my sig for a eVGA 7600gt and its completely silent on the 5v settings and it dropped my temps 7c-10c when compared to the loud stock cooler that was on there. I highly recommend it.

this is what i have on my 7600gt. it's zalmans vf-700 helps cool down my card a whole lot.

Naah, I don't like the Zalman stuffs, they are really noisy, and not efficient anyway when at low noise level, and their VGA coolers always has to be plugged on a either a fan controller or directly to the PSU, as they always have the standard 3-pin, and most VGA cards only have that small 2-pin plugs, as they are controlled by the VGA itself. I like automation, and I hate twisting the fan knobs, and I hate having to set the speed manually higher or lower just to make it adopt if I game or if I just do small things. I think I'm gonna try to put a Silencer 6 and hope it will fit just right.

But if there are more suggestions, that would be great.

I have a 7600GT too and with summer coming up, I want to upgrade the cooling on this thing. Anything that's powerful enough to keep temps down and not be much louder than the stock fan?

The Arctic Cooling Silencer 6 Rev.2 has fit perfectly nicely. Super quiet as expected from Arctic Cooling !

Those coolers where originally designed for FX5700 (AGP) and GF 6200/6600 (GT, PCIe only).

I think I did read somewhere that older 7600 GT/GS board design can't support it, they didn't have the extra set of screw holes. So I checked mine and I found it having an extra set of hole and went bought this cooler. And like I said, it fits perfectly !

And did I mention, it's nice and quiet ? Also it's practically noiseless once you close the case up. I never even heared it yet, I've been opening the case once in a while just to check if it's really spinning.

Also nVidia control panel is saying that the temp is at 46C.
