Passive 8800GT and SG03

i think the 8800GT is the same size card as the GTX it just as slimmer cooling

some say its as long as the GTS but from all the photos ive seen of it. it looks as long as the GTX

From what I've read, the 8800GT is about 9 inches long, (about as long as the GTS) while the GTX is about 11 inches long. The GT should fit in most cases with no problems.

Yeah, I dont think size in relation to case is a problem here. However the card/mobo relation may need to be investigated. Don't some of those passive cards bump up against the RAM modules on some mobo models? This would be my only concern in this situation but it may be a moot point here.

It looks like the card has a big heatsink on its back. I think if the card fits, it will be a tight fit because of the location of the PSU. And even if it fits, cooling might be a problem because the heatsink wil be close to the side of the PSU with almost no room for air circulation. But maybe it's possible to re-install the heatsink with the heatsink on the other side of the card. Just like it's possible to install the Thermalright HR-03 in two different ways.

hmm, i'd like to know whether the sparkle card fits too...........

Will the Thermalright HR-03 fit inside a SG03? I'm planing on getting one for my upcoming SG03 build.

Does anybody know of an e-tailer (which ships Internationally) where I can buy this awesome Sparkle graphics card?

They must only sell overseas. I've never heard of them or ever seen a card and it looks like they have been around for awhile. Sparkle is also a brand of power supplies made by Fortron. http://www.sparklepower.com/

Hmm...damn, that really sucks. :( I *really* want this passive 8800GT, but since I live in the Caribbean that's going to be a problem. Sigh...well thanks for the info. I'll keep an eye out if/when they become available on-line.

I'm wondering the same thing. Anyone know if the old Thermalright HR-03 fits?

Also, did you guys see the latest from Thermalright?

Did anybody try it yet, fitting the sparkle passiv 8800GT into the SG03 with the NT06 installed? I am a bit worried about the heatsink on the back of the video card....

8800gt /w accelero s1 in an sg03 ftw!

Yeah, but the accelero is mounted on the FRONT side of the card - how about a passive heatsink that is attached to the back side of the card?
