Passed the test last week... I took the fast track class back in March...

Good stuff :)

Now if VMWare would get around to updating the mylearn portal to show the test is passed...
 
I passed the test but didn't take the class. I need to before vSphere 5 comes out. I didn't have $3k lying around.
 
Just felt like jumping into the thread... I passed VCP 410 today as well. Took the Fast track class last October and almost forgot to go take the test, voucher expired today.

Is VMWorld worth it? Been to EMC world past two years, but never went to VMWorld.
 
The content catalog for VMworld is being populated right now..go check what's available and see. If you go stop by my session on the Cisco Nexus 1000v. :)

VMWorld worth it? IMHO It depends on who's paying and what your position in the company is.
If you are someone who influences decision making or are a decision maker yourself, then it's worth to go if your business relies on VMware. If you are "merely" a tech and have no say in what the future might hold then it's worth to go for fun if someone else is paying for it though me personally I hold my travel budget tight for more interesting destinations than San Fran.
 
congrats on the pass!! Mylearn did update with my vcp number and all that, i've yet to receive my official cert in the mail yet though.

I don't really agree with that. There are some really great technical sessions at VMworld. Things you can't easily get elsewhere.
 
But would you fork out your own cash for travel and registration to see some great technical sessions which will eventually make their way to the Internet at large (not the exact presentations, but the gist behind it)? I wouldn't especially considering the retardedly (is this a word?) high price of the registration.

I go to a different conference as the Moscone Center with runs the whole week and costs a fraction of what VMware is charging.
 
Just depends what you want. I'm on a plane right now to Vegas for Cisco Live. This is an opportunity to talk and sit down with people that I don't often get the chance to see so it's well worth it for us to send 3 people out here and we are only a 35 person company.
 
received my welcome kit today... had my certificate and info for my free copy of Workstation 7... :)

for time reference I think I passed the exam on the 20th of May... so not bad.

I may be able to get work to pay for class. So that's exciting. My test completion will then become legit.
