Partitioning

start > run > (type) diskmgmt.msc

Partition Magic offers nothing over Disk Management in the area of "partitioning"
but changing your mind and resizing partitions it has a leg up
but even there you can learn to do some of it with diskpart.exe there are however serious limitations

in Partition Magic, do one thing at a time and apply it, then reboot if necessary
and never use the merge option, and restarting the computer if it hangs simply gurantees its toast
90% of people that screw up with Partition Magic tried to do a half dozen things at once, had it hang and restarted the computer,
and boy does that make a hash of things
 
Indeed. I probably should have mentioned that. But then again, partitioning isn't something someone should be doing without at least a reasonable understanding....

MS needs to add support for more formats. FAT, FAT32, and NTFS just aren't enough. I'd like to transfer data from my *nix partition wihtout having to reboot. Damn windows.
 
If you use Partition Magic. Then use it only in DOS mode. Do not installl in windows and use it from there.

If it's a single hard disk, why not set up the partitions using the Windows install disc and the management console as described above?
