I'm about to build my new computer (everything should be here tomorrow), and I got to thinking about installing XP Pro.

Should I use the BIOS to partition my 120GB, or keep it whole and use PartitionMagic8.0 to partition it?

Or is there really any difference?
 
Unless you're doing something real screwy like making a dozen different partitions for nonstandard filesystems in order to run various OSes or have bizarre layouts (e.g. making a small partition for C: and putting windows on D: or even F: to avoid problems with certain viri), just use XP's utility.
 
I just wanna make a small partition for Windows, and then leave the rest for media junk.

If that's all you want to do you should just use the tools built into the XP installer. It's a common layout, saves you having to backup all your media to format/reinstall.
