Partitioning storage drive

I boot off an SSD and I just bought a 4 TB HDD for storage. In the past I always partitioned them into 2 equal partitions, just so I have some chance at saving data if one goes bad. What do others do?
 
There's no real reason to partition a storage drive anymore. NTFS supports up to like 256TB or something stupid, which was the reason most people used to partition drives in FAT32. I believe FAT32 only supported 2TB volumes or something.
 
Partitions don't go bad; drives go bad. Both partitions get screwed when the drive goes bad. There just is no need to partition anything these days, short of dual booting an OS drive.
