Partition Magic trouble

i installed partition magic but it wont let me resize some of my hardrives partitions, it says something like "There are no primary or logical partitions" how do i fix this? i think its because i just formated the drives without creating a partition then installed the OS or just started using it for file storage.

how does one fix this?
 
Are you using one of those 38GB patches? What's a screenshot of the drive in question look like?

 
i have 3 harddrives, 1 had windows xp one has vista beta and one is just for storage now partition magic only seems to work on one of them, on the other 2 it wont let me create a new partition, resize the partition, or if you click on properties for the drive i get error #4444, and on the partition magic screen next to the drive lettter it has weird numbers and letters like F: !G! or D:?H? kinda weird

i think it has something to do with when i started using the drives i never partitioned them i just formated and started to use them but still partition magic should override that right?
