Parting out PC, move vista?

I just bought a copy of Vista ultimate a couple months ago, and I am thinking of parting out my machine. Is there anyway, I can move this copy to my laptop and format my drives for sale?

There is no technical reason that would prevent you from installing Vista on another machine.

As for the right to do it, it depends on what license you have for that copy of vista (OEM, Retail, Upgrade, VL etc.)

Then legally, according to the EULA, no... you can't. OEM copies are tied to the hardware they were originally installed on.
