I have some domains which expire very close to the new year. With the holidays and all I hate managing them. Is there a way to extend or change the time at which you register? Basically it would be really nice if I could push the renewal off into February.

Depends entirely on your domain registrar's pricing model. My current registrar only has a $$ per year model. Personally, I would call them over the phone and ask customer service as their website may not display every option available.

Renewing ahead of time doesn't seem to change the date. And I need to push it past the new year for business cost reasons.

I know I can do this at a # of registrars I use, but I forget which. Sorry.
They let you change date and/or consolidate domains to one day too.

I know godaddy is one of the ones that allows this, as I have done it in the past.
