Hey guys, I'm a noobie, so I was hoping for some help.

I've been trying to play Doom 3 on my new Dell 3.6 Ghz Gen4 XPS with a Radeon X800 XT video card. Whenever I turn in the game, a section of the top part of the screen lags behind the rest of the screen. It's kind of like pushing a stack of blocks from the bottom - the bottom blocks move before the top blocks. There might be a technical term for this that I don't know. I've loaded the latest Catalyst drivers for my operating system, Windows XP Media Center, and the 1.1 patch for Doom 3. Is this a common problem with this video card? Does anyone have an idea of what I can do?

Well, even before turning on v-synch, I would make sure you have a 1/2 decent refresh rate.

It should be set at 85hz or better unless your monitor does not match your system!

I would be you are sitting at 60hz right now.

You could always call the Dell Elite Service Team, which you have access to because you bought an XPS system. I read that in the Dell catalog one day.

With your card you could probably enable Triple Buffering too since you got VSYNC on. Its in your catalyst control panel thingy. If it takes the FPS way down dont use it though.

Would someone explain this triple buffering feature to me... i've been running nvidia cards lately.
