Hey guys, can anyone tell me the difference between ips,s-ips,ah-ips,pls,s-pva,ahva,a-mva and tft/pva? Is there one type that is best for gaming?

ips, s-ips, ah-ips - iterations of the IPS (in plane switching) panel. Great viewing angles (no gamma shift) and color reproduction. IPS glow, relatively high pixel response time compared to TN, low contrast.

ahva (Advanced Hyper-Viewing Angle) - AUO's analog of the IPS technology, slightly wider gamut.

PLS (plane to line switching) - Samsung's analog of the IPS panel with not so slightly wider gamut, some actually have significant overcoverage, some people claim that PLS suffers from black crush as well.

s-pva, a-mva, pva - variants of VA (vertical alignment) panel. Very high contrast ratio and deep blacks at an expense of prominent black crush and darkening of the deeper shades. Alright viewing angles (image brightens with off center viewing). Were very slow in the past, but have improved significantly.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Great guys, thanks...
