Did anyone notice or post about this major spike? How did Pande suddenly break into the top 4? Did I miss something??

It's supposed to be a temporary thing. I saw a little discussion about it at MaxPC a couple days ago.

http://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?p=62776#p62776

We received a generous loan of some substantial compute resources for a couple projects. Rather than have this credited to a specific user, these resources are operating under the anonymous user name. The availability of these resources is relatively temporary.

I know this is a pretty stupid question, but is this "Pande Lab" part of the Stanford organisation  :(

It really doesn't matter, I was just curious. AFAIK "the more the merrier" (or something like that) :D

Folding and WCGing for the CURE

Yes, Pande Lab is the same labs used by the Pande Group.

That's a heck of a temporary resource.

Maybe that temporary resource is that truck load of PS3's that went missing. By temporary they mean until the cops finally track them down.

Maybe, we now know it's not a [H]orde member. Someone get the borging SWAT going STAT !

They only intend to "borrow" them and will return PS3s and said truck that they came in when their experiments are done :)
