Hey, I've got a panasonic MD that's got some problems...and I don't really have any options to have it fixed besides doing it myself. It's ~ 5 yo or so, and it's really important to me. I noticed a significant dent on the upper right side of it one morning, probably due to someone stepping on it the night before.

When I insert a disc, it will try to start to spin up, but then will emit clicking noises and refuse to read the TOC, giving me a TOC ERROR and eventually a SYSTEM ERROR.

This sounds like a drive/motor/optical assembly problem, anyone have any experience diagnosing these?

I really need to fix this!
