Palit 8800gt + Accelero S!

Hi all

My AC Accelero S1 should be here tomorrow and I have a quick query before I try to install it.

My Palit 8800gt has custom cooling on it, including the power regulators - I was hoping that the S1 would have enough clearance for me to leave this on (as the rev1 doesnt come with heatsinks for the power chips).

Can any remember how much clearance there is between the card and the S1 heatsink, and am I going to have to somehow mod this heatsink / the S1 in order to get it to fit?

The power heatsink is roughly 10mm high, maybe a tiny bit more - I was thinking i may have to cut a couple of fins out the S1 in order to get it over the top?

Anyone have any input - would be much appriciated.

Well, the S1 arrived - and by the looks of it its gonna be really really close, got a funny feeling its not going to fit tho....

Which means a) running without any heatsinks on the power (not keen as this has 3 phase power on it and i intend to be overclocking) b) Cutting some fins out the S1, depending if the heatpipes are in the way or c) taking a hacksaw to the heatsink already on the power to take 5mm off the top of it the whole way across.....

All in all a bit of a nightmare
