A buddy of mine from overseas recently stopped by and brought some DVDs with him. I don't have a region-free DVD player so no go there. They will play on my computer in windows media player 10, but the movies contantly skip/pause. Anyone know of freeware that can be used to convert PAL to NTSC, or at the very least know of freeware dvd playback software that won't skip?
 
I would recomend reading some of the guides at VCDHelp you can check out the guides, and the Tools section has many progs for just about every need regarding video/audio encoding, editing.
