Hey guys, just upgraded my GTS250 to a 6950 (havent attempted an unlock yet),
and was just wondering, is it possible to crossfire with the gts250 to allow it to process physix? At work, just had that thought, if anyone thinks this is possible, let me know please.

Yes, it's possible to use your 250 for physx with an AMD card for graphics. You'll have to install both AMD and nvidia drivers and there can be some issues there, but it's been done by quite a few people so there should be some guides available.

It is possible to use the GTS250 as a PhysX card along with your AMD videocard (using hacked drivers), but understand that this has nothing to do with Crossfire. Crossfire is where you are running two or more AMD cards and they are splitting the graphical workload. In this case you would just be using your Nvidia card for PhysX.

Having a dedicated physx card is pretty much a waste in my opinion. Since there are only 1 or 2 games a year that will use it. The rest of the time it will be sitting in your computer sucking up electricity doing nothing.

I recently added an 8800GT to pair with my 4870X2. I followed the instructions here: http://www..com/graphic-cards/17706-hybrid-physx-mod-v1-03-v1-05ff.html

Depending on the game you are trying to get Physx to work on you may have to change the name of a file in the games folder. If you google that particular game and AMD Physx you will probably find the workaround. There aren't a lot of games that support Physx, but I thought Batman AC with Physx was a nice upgrade. If you have the spare card why not use it.

Becuase im not sure my 600W PSU can supply the needed power. I was just kinda thinking out loud.
