Painting rubber

I ordered some c-molding for some fan hole edges. It's black rubbery material and I want to paint it. My case theme is silver and a near flourescant blue so I don't want that black messing up my shway ;)

I tried some krylon plastic paint I used on chasis that worked great but spraying onto the rubber isn't working to hot. It's dry to the touch but leaves fingerprints. Am I not letting it dry long enough or should I be using some other paint? The can says dry in 15 min, and I waited 20.

Thanks!

Well I don't think that even paint designed for plastics will adhere properly to rubber. I think the best solution for you is vinyl dye. However since you have already painted the rubber... I don't know if that is a viable option. Especially concidering that many paint removers would probably also damage the rubber...

If anyone else has sugjestions or if I'm off base, that would help too...

I have a lot more left so replacing the painted one already is no problem. My only problem with using vinyl dye is finding a color substantially similar to all the blue already on the case.

i watch mythbuster on discovery channel that day... they uses latex paint and mixed it with gold dust...

it's fast drying and flexible
