Painting my Antec

When painting it , is there a good technique to paint the Bezel( I guess thats what there called) the plastic thing on the front of your case,

Do you plan on sanding it down smooth or leave the rough texture on it? I had an old Antec 282 and I sanded the bezel down smooth using 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper. I then used regular grey Plastic-Kote auto primer on it Wet sanded it between coats. Then I put on about 3 color coats, again wet sanding with 600 between coats. I then finished it off with 3 coats of clear coat. Wet sanding that with 600 for the first 2 coats then went to 1000 grit then 1500 and finished it off with 2000on the 3rd coat. It came out looking real good. It seems to be holding up good also. I'm working on one now and I going to be using Rust-o-leum paint on this one. Rust-o-leum makes a primer for plastic called Plastic-Prep. I have a can of that on order. I'm curious to see it that helps out any or not.
Anyhow this is just my 2 cents worth. Good luck but take your time.

Why go to all that painting trouble when you can use Vinyl Dye or Kylon Fushion? Both products are designed for plastic application and require no prep work. You can find both products at your local Pep Boys, Home Depot or Walmart.

To me it's a labor of love. Besides I did this before they came out with fusion paint.

Why go through the trouble, because the finish comes out a million times better the long way then with vinyl dye and it'll match the rest of the case perfectly. I doubt you can find paint for the metal of a case and vinyl dye for the plastics that match perfectly.
