Painting Case Fans?

I have some cheap plastic black case fans...

Since I am going to be building an aluminum case this summer. I want my fans to look like metal too. I saw some fake metal spray paint the other day.

Would painting my fans be okay?
 
Take the fans apart first and spray everything individually so that you don't get paint all up in the motor mechanism and gunk it all up.
 
As already mentioned, painting fans is do-able. However, I don't think you will get that great of a metal effect. The majority of the metallic paints out there are nothing like the real thing. Good luck though! Be sure to show us some pics if you are successful.
 
I think the aluminum housing fans will give you bettter results than the metalic colored painted ones. I wasnt impressed with the metalic paint I tried. IT actually turned into a disaster when I tried to polish it out.
