is there a way to remove the blades and motor from the frame so they can be painted? i would like to paint them to match a case, but keep the frame black. and any suggestions for a type of spray paint? i would guess that testors enamel would be good on plastic, and long-lasting because its's enamel. but that is just a guess.
 
1) Peel the sticker off the bottom (carefully as you'll need to reuse it). If there's a cap over the center hub remove it.
2) Remove any oil in the oil well (center where you peeled the sticker off of).
3) Use a small tool to pry the c-clip off of the shaft in the well (be careful, this thing may fly out and you NEED this piece later).
4) Pull fan blade assembly off of motor hub.

As for spray paint, Krylon Fusion is meant for plastics.
