Hi All. Alright, heres my story:

I just some parts off the egg an hour ago, including a new case.

I'm putting together a comp together for dear mother here, and she wants a black case, mine is beige. what would be the best paint to use to 'paint it black' and make dear mother happy?

I'd say you should have gotten a black case. It's sorta a waste just to order a beige case if you knew that she wanted black. I'd say Vinyl Dye.
 
Well if its all plastic then Vinyl dye. Chances are the sides will be metal. In this case I would say automotive primer and paint.

You can probaly find a good auto primer/paint at places like Pepboys, Discount Auto Parts etc etc.
 
If the case is all plastice I would use vinyl dye.

OK guys, I need to paint a couple bezels tomorrow and Discount Auto Parts said they didn't have "vinyl dye" but they had this:

I have a Lian-Li PC-71 Black case and figured if this was the right stuff that I needed the VS3-Flat Black. What do you guys think? Thank you.
 
I would guess so. How about trying it out on a drive bezel first. Wait you have a Lian-Li? Don't they have a aluminum front?
 
Yes, and they do have two 5 1/4" bezels and one 3 1/2" bezel already built in and it looks like all I have to do is take the bezels off of my CD-ROM and sigma box (3 1/2" thing that came with MB with extra USB connectors and CMOS clear button) and I should be fine, but they don't seem like they would work right though. It's like a flip open spring loaded thing. Well, maybe I don't have to vinyl dye after all. Anyone know what's going on here?
 
The front bezel is aluminum right? If so then you could just use the same paint that you use on a case to paint it.
 
I just found out the sigma box will need to be painted to work as in a 3 1/2" bay, but maybe not in a 5 1/4" bay (I would rather have it in a 3 1/2" bay though. Also, I want to use vinyl dye to paint the device bezels if I have to.

I'm checking the CD-ROM bezel right now and having trouble getting it off; be back soon..........

.....I'm back and the CD-ROM bezel will have to be painted with vinyl dye as well. The button to open the CD-ROM tray on the case doesn't hit the button in the CD-ROM.
 
I just did this today, it came out fine. Use 3M Metal Sand Paper and rough up the sides of the case a lil (metal parts, not plastic front), the aluminum or metal doesnt have to be showing, you just have to get the gloss off the top. Then you krylon spray paint. I used a dark blue gloss paint and the case looks awesome. Try it out and see how it goes, it worked great for me.
 
Nevermind, I'll start my own thread. Hijack averted, go back to talking about case painting. ;)
