Painkiller rez problem

Well, I decided to go out and buy Painkiller lastnite. GREAT game so far , looks pretty nice. Anyways with the normal install and no updates or anything I can run my res 1280x1024 , though when I updated to the 1.2patch there is no option for that res in the video section. So I'm having to play at 1024x768, I'd go higher in res over the 1280 but my Nec 1760v only supports that res at the highest. I've tried messing with the config. file but it just reverts back to 640 if I try and change it. Anyone else having any problems or know how to get around this? Thanks ahead of time, back to killing Hell Spawn

Painkiller is poopoo. I hate everything about the game.

painkiller has mundayne gameplay, its the most repetitive game ive ever played......its fun for a little bit and then your like wow this blows
