I need to get some advice on the following scenario. My server is running Windows 2000 5.00.2195 Service Pack 4. Intel Pentium III 1133MHz with 4,013,544 KB RAM. It acts as an inventory database for several users in the office. Recently the system started continuously beeping at me. It starts to beep right when the windows logo comes on the screen. I can get it to stop beeping when I pull up adaptec storage manager. (see pic below) I checked the event log and it says the c drive is full and is the reason for the beeping. So I go to the C drive to see if I can delete any items that aren't needed but I can't determine what is safe to delete and what is not. So, I take a look at the largest item on the c drive and it is pagefile.sys at 2gb and growing! The c drive is a 4.87 gb drive. So basically half the drive is being eaten by virtual RAM. Is this really necessary? I attached some print screens to show you guys what's going on. Take a look at them. So, if you guys had this problem, what would you do? What is the best way to handle this issue? See pics below:
