Packed 2001FP wrong now have two spots on it.

I packed my 2001FP panel improperly in the original foam packaging and now have two spots where the peaks of the foam touched the glass. They are invisible on a dark background but appear like 33% grey on a white background. The panel isn't cracked, it's as if the liquid nature of glass just took over and dented the glass in a fraction of a millimeter.

I tried time to see if they would just go away, but that didn't work. Anyone know of some tricks I might try to get rid of the spots?

Sounds to me like you packed the panel itself wrong.....the panel goes face *down*. There shouldn't be anything underneath it that could touch the surface. The peaks you speak of should be oriented to press against the bottom back half of the panel IIRC.

Did u put the screen face up? It's supposed to be facing the bottom of the box... As for the spots, I don't think u can do anything about'em, it seems like a permanent damage

I would see what effect slight to firm rubbing (maybe with a very soft fabric) has on the spots, but the odds are that they won't go away.

how bout using suction cups to pull at the dark spots? Do it gently, maybe a little at a time everyday over a course of a week or two. Worth a try; don't blame me if something breaks! Try at own risk.

Got one on one of the spots now, exe. That's actually a good idea as it's the only way to put the opposite direction pressure on the panel. I don't think anything will break. If this works, however, this will be something for the how-to faqs.
